EYKE CENSUS Villager Danni Whiting has gamely offered to compile the Eyke census to give us all a fascinating snapshot of how the village has evolved. First up is 1841 and there's plenty to raise the eyebrows. Obviously there may be mistakes in the census, however its nice to see three generations of bricklayers in one family, and a very high proportion of Suffolk-born. Two exceptions were the clergyman and the policeman - Mr Alfred Perfect!. If you have any info to pad out this data, please get in touch, as search whizz Danni and this web site would very much like to get more background. If you'd like to read about how Danni got started, click here (it's amazing the things you can uncover!) >> Perhaps your ancestors are on here and you have some pictures for us to scan (not digital we presume) or you can tell us what happened next! The files are Adobe Acrobat pdfs - if you do not have this programme, or an image viewer on your PC, you can download it for free at www.adobe.com 1841 Census >> / 1851 Census >> / 1861 Census >> / 1871 Census >> / 1881 Census >> / 1891 Census >> |
