Eyke school
Eyke Parochial School was opened in June 1857 by the then Rector, The Rev. James Darling and consisted of one classroom and one teacher and catered for Village children from the age of three to thirteen. It would appear that there were about fifty children in the school and the teacher was assisted by the Rev. Darling and his wife.

In 1899 a new classroom was added and the school remained like this until it was rebuilt in 1961. At this time children over eleven started to attend Butley Modern School.

In 1974 there were more changes and in September of that year it became Eyke First School serving the catchment area of Butley, Campsea Ashe and Tunstall as well as Eyke and Bromeswell, catering for children from five to eight.

As a result of the closure of Butley Middle School in 1988, children remain at Eyke School until they are eleven. The School continues to have close associations with the Church and the Children regularly attend for special services such as Harvest Festival.
