On this 25th March, 2008 my idle chatter/writing is being collated just down or is it up the road from little ole-Ike in the sunshine state of Florida. Ann and I left our log cabin at 3AM on Wednesday, March 19 and arrived here some twenty-one hours later following an interesting trip over land and sea. It's some nine years since our last visit and it was never in my mind following that trip that a second visit would ever come about, but of course in true reality none of us truly know what the future may hold.
This not quite complete family reunion has been extra special in that it was the first time we had seen our great grandson who is just starting to walk. One can most certainly sense the wind blowing at the top of the tree whilst the lower end begins to take root.
It seems to be almost abnormally clean here at this time. No need for wellington boots or the old mac and cap, hence I wonder where is the mud, but having written that, there was a tornado warning a few days ago for a not too far off area so one shouldn't be too complacent.
A visit to the Palm Beach Zoo was a real pleasure as children's faces showed their anticipated excitement whilst queuing up to enter, not to mention their laughter once inside where jets of water situated in a large circle presented the opportunity for them to run in amongst, which of course many were so doing.
With us being somewhat programmed, ie. habitual early risers, has given the opportunity for us to do some T.V. viewing whilst lying in the king size bed so provided with so many channels there is little if anything left to the imagination and this is truly meant in the most constructive of ways. You name it and it's there for one to listen/view. I have to write with the world being such as it is; in disarray etc., etc. that the old saying of "ignorance is bliss" comes to mind to a lesser or greater degree, even that seemingly in these times has some value. Just where is man headed.
It will soon be time to shed the tee-shirt and shorts to which one has become accustomed of later and once again pull on the old boiler suit no doubt "horses for courses" says it all.
