IT'S SPRING AGAIN

Whilst the abnormal spring like weather blessed us during the early days of February as one sauntered around our parish road side verges doing the annual village litter pick in an endeavour to keep our minute part of Great Britain a tad tidier, no fewer than 9 1/2 bags excluding eighty six glass bottles plus quite a number of plastic bottles which were also able to be recycled, an exercise not to be enjoyed by many but on a positive note it far beats stagnating on the old chair, as one local resident asked as he passed by "quote" "is the pay good?" no doubt should it ever come about that people are employed to do it village by village then no doubt the cost will be a different matter.

How tranquil the snowdrops were as they watched the ageing country yokel steadily passing by, not too unlike the Suffolk Punches of yesteryear with their steady plod whilst younger men in their modern machines seemed not to have a minute to live as they tilled the field, as is sometimes said "Don't leave for tomorrow what you can do today," indeed the birds seem to apply this to themselves as the gathering of materials gets into full swing.

For me little "Ole Ike" is home, the seasons come and go just like they always have, whilst the magpies are keeping a keen eye out for a rabbit who happened to cross the road during the night and by so doing lost his/her life, the former shows us that "waste not - want not" is full of credibility more especially when survival is at stake and the present economic climate should not be taken too lightly either. .
